Diamond in the Ruff Garden
We are looking for volunteers to assist in a root garden - potatoes and carrots. It would involve helping with planting, weeding, watering and then harvesting. The veggies from the garden would then be donated to various organizations or group homes. We would like to form a partnership with these homes and get them to help withy the work as well. Possible schedule would be a meeting once a month from May until October to do the work. If we had a group of about 20 people, it would only take about an hour each month. Great opportunity for students.

Regina Reading Buddies
The Regina Reading Buddies literacy program is for volunteers who want to work with kindergarten to grade 3 students to help them practice their reading. Volunteers choose their own times, according to their own availability, whether it's on a regular basis or just occasionally, during the months of September through May. This is perfect for Life Members and Partners who don't work during the day. Regular members and youth are welcome on their holidays or days off. The kids love us!

Big Brothers of Regina
The In-School Mentoring program, from Big Brothers of Regina, matches adult volunteer mentors with mentees from Kindergarten to Grade 8 in Regina’s public schools. Mentors meet with their mentees at the school, one hour per week, for the duration of the academic school year. Schools allow breaks from regular programming for children to take part. Suggested activities are provided to assist the Mentors in developing a relationship with their mentees. Each school in which the program is offered has a well-stocked activity bin. End-of-the-school-year interviews are conducted with all participants. Our outcomes have shown improved school attendance and school performance, which have occurred as a -natural result of the match. Please contact Melissa Tran at 757-3900 or visit their website.
Volunteers are also required for the traditional Big Brother Program . Please contact the office at 757-3900 or visit their website.
